Just like us, certain events or situations can cause our cats to feel upset or anxious. But unlike us, your cat can’t simply tell you what is making them feel this way. Instead, they display their distress through problem behaviour, such as vertical scratching, urine spraying or constant meowing, which can be distressing for owners too.
No cat-owner wants to see their beloved cat feeling anxious or unsettled, so being able to identify the reason for their stress is important. Some causes of stress cannot be removed, such as a new pet or member of the family, or moving house, so choosing the right calming product for your cat and your situation is essential.
Beaphar CatComfort® is a simple and effective solution to reducing problem behaviour in cats. The product range uses a synthetic copy of the feline facial pheromone to help your cat feel more at ease. Pheromones are instantly recognised by your cat, and are associated with feelings of happiness and reassurance.
This means using a pheromone product, such as Beaphar CatComfort®, will help effectively reassure your cat and reduce problem behaviour.
Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Diffuser
An easy-to-use plug-in pheromone diffuser which can be placed in any area of the home. The diffuser gives a continuous, reassuring message to your cat, providing you with a long-term solution to reducing your cat’s general feelings of anxiety. The pheromones from the Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Diffuser will be instantly recognisable to your cat, helping them feel more at ease.
When to use:
For best results the diffuser should be used continuously, and not switched off at night or when you leave the house. This means it is useful for planned events like fireworks and parties, as well as unexpected situations such as thunderstorms. Don’t forget to stock up on the Beaphar CatComfort® 30 Day Refill as well, to ensure your cat feels at ease all year round.

Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Spray
A pocket-sized pheromone spray which is simple to use, and is effective for up to five hours. Perfect for travelling and use in targeted areas around the home.
When to use:
Travelling and visits to vets or catteries can be a stressful experience for your cat. Use the Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Spray in empty cat carriers and on blankets 15 minutes before your set off to help your cat feel more at ease during the journey. Do not use the spray on your cat or while your cat is inside the cat carrier.

Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Diffuser AND Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Spray
For certain problem behaviour or events, you may want to use a combination of the diffuser and spray.
When to use:
For specific home based problem behaviour, such as vertical scratching or urine spraying, use the Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Spray on the object/area where you cat exhibits the problem behaviour, as well as plugging in the Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Diffuser.
Moving to a new home? Use Beaphar CatComfort® to prepare the house before introducing your cat. Select the room you’d like your cat to spend their time in, and plug in the diffuser. The diffuser can take up to a week to be fully effective (depending on the size of the room). In the meantime, use the Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Spray around the room 15 minutes before moving your cat for a more instantaneous calming effect. When you furnish the room, add some toys to keep them occupied and their bed, which you can also spray with Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Spray with.
