  • Q Can I use Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats at the same time as a flea treatment?
  • A Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats can be used on the same day as a flea treatment, providing it does not contain the same ingredients or is applied to the same place. However, we recommend waiting at least 48 hours between using Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats and a flea product.
  • Q How long does it take for Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats to work?
  • A Praziquantel, the active ingredient in Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats, works very quickly. It is effective against all tapeworm life stages present in your cat at time of treatment.
  • Q How long is Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats effective for?
  • A All wormers, including Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats, are effective at the time of treatment. For continued protection from a worm infestation, you need to worm your cat once every three months.
  • Q How often should I use Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for cats to worm my cat?
  • A Adult cats should be wormed at least once every three months. However, if your cat hunts, eats prey or scavenges you may wish to consider worming at monthly intervals. This is because prey animals often act as an intermediary host for tapeworm larvae, putting hunting and scavenging cats at an increased risk of a worm infestation.
  • Q What worms is Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for cats effective against?
  • A Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats is effective against immature and mature tapeworms. This includes Dipylidium caninum, Taenia species and Echinococcus multilocularis.
  • Q Can I use Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats on pregnant or nursing queens?

  • Q How old does my cat have to be to use Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats?
  • A Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats is suitable for use in cats of any age, providing they weigh over 1kg.
  • Q I didn’t get the entire contents of the spot-on tube on my cat, should I apply another?
  • A If you have been unable to treat your cat with the correct dosage required for their weight, you MUST wait at least 48 hours before attempting reapplication. If you try to apply another tube too soon your cat will be at risk of an overdose.
  • Q Can I use Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats at the same time as Beaphar WORMclear® Tablets for Cats?
  • A No. Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats and Beaphar WORMclear® Tablets for Cats both contain praziquantel. Using both products simultaneously would put your cat at risk of an overdose. If you wish to treat your cat for roundworms, you will need to use an additional product that doesn’t include praziquantel alongside Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats, such as Beaphar Worming Granules for Cats.
  • Q Is Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats a veterinary medicine?
  • A Yes, Beaphar WORMclear® Spot-On for Cats is a licenced Veterinary Medicine, and is approved by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD). • Q My vet says pet shop wormers do not work - is this true?
  • A By law, all pet medicines have to pass stringent testing to prove effectiveness, quality and safety before they make it to market. Indeed, to be allowed to be sold ''over the counter', products have to have a long and robust safety record.
  • Newly discovered medicines have to be sold by vets for at least 5 years before they can be assessed to see if they are considered sufficiently safe to be sold without professional supervision, so vets do often supply different products to retailers, some of which work in different ways. However, all pet medicines, no matter whether they are sold by vets, pharmacists or retailers, go through the same testing requirements to prove that they are safe for the pet, their owner and the environment, that they are effective, and that the manufacturer can consistently make them to the required standard.
  • All Beaphar wormers have been proven effective and to 'do what they say on the pack'. If you are unsure or concerned about the most suitable product for your pet, please feel free to contact our Customer Services Team.
