Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar - Adult

Product reference 17674UK
Easy-to-use pheromone collar which is ideal for use on-the-go, such as travelling or spending time in kennels. Uses pheromones which are recognised by your dog and clinically proven to promote feelings of reassurance and reduce general anxiety.
The Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar - Adult is a simple and effective solution to reducing problem behaviour in dogs, such as barking, furniture destruction, urinary marking, excessive licking and scratching, or general feelings of anxiety.

Beaphar CaniComfort® contains a copy of the naturally produced Dog Appeasing Pheromone, which is instantly recognisable to dogs. It is naturally produced by the bitch when she nurses her puppies. By using a copy of this pheromone in the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar - Adult, it gives a continuous and reassuring message to help dogs feel at ease wherever they are. This can be incredibly valuable when bringing home a new dog, helping them settle quickly into their new routine.

Once fitted, the collar works quickly and will start creating a calming effect around 15 minutes after application. The collar will be effective for up to four weeks, meaning it is ideal for helping to keep your dog calm when out and about, and is especially useful when travelling or spending time in kennels.

The collar must be fitted at least 15 minutes before a potentially stressful situation. Your dog’s body temperature will activate the collar, diffusing the pheromones into the air and creating a calming effect.

Suitable for all breed of dogs.
ALWAYS FULLY READ THE PRODUCT PACKAGING BEFORE USE.

Do not open the sachet until you are ready to use the collar.

1. Fasten the collar around your dog's neck, leaving enough room to insert two fingers between the collar and neck. Do not fit too tightly to prevent irritation, but do not fit too loosely or your dog may be able to get a foot or tooth under the collar and become caught up attempting to remove it.
2. Once you have established the correct size for your dog, cut off any collar sticking out beyond the buckle and throw it in your dustbin.
3. Remember to periodically check and loosen the collar if required.

Ensure the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar is in contact with the skin, and not overlapping a normal collar or the calming effect may be reduced. The collar must be fitted at least 15 minutes before a potentially stressful situation. Remove the collar before bathing or exposure to heavy rain.

  • Q Can I use the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar at the same time as a flea collar?
  • A Yes, the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar can be fitted at the same time as a flea collar, providing the two collars are not overlapping and both collars are touching your dog’s skin.
  • Q I own a small dog, do I need to use the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar – Adult?
  • A No, the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar - Puppy can be used for smaller breeds of dog. Both collars work in the same way and contain the Dog Appeasing Pheromone .
  • Q Do I need to remove the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar before my dog bathes or swims?
  • A Yes, we recommend removing the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar before bathing your dog, before they go swimming or exposure to heavy rain. If the collar gets wet, the pheromones may be leached from the collar, reducing the efficacy.
  • Q Can my dog wear the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar at the same time as a normal collar?
  • A Yes, the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar can be fitted at the same time as a normal collar, so long as the two collars are not overlapping. The Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar needs to be in contact with your dog’s skin in order to achieve optimum efficacy, otherwise the calming effect may be reduced.
  • Q Can the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar be used at the same time as a spot-on flea treatment?
  • A Yes, a spot-on flea treatment can be applied to your dog as long as it is applied in a different place to the Beaphar CaniComfort® Calming Collar.
  • Q Will Beaphar CaniComfort® sedate my dog?
  • A No, Beaphar CaniComfort® will not sedate your dog or any other animals.
  • Q Will Beaphar CaniComfort® have any effect on other pets?
  • A Beaphar CaniComfort® contains a synthetic copy of the Dog Appeasing Pheromone which is specific to dogs and will not affect other species.
  • Q Can multiple pheromone products for different species be used at the same time?
  • A Pheromones are specific each target species, meaning dogs can’t interpret feline pheromones and cats can’t interpret canine pheromones. Each species will be able to identify the relevant pheromones with no interaction from the other product.
  • Q What should I do if my dog’s behavioural problem is not solved after one month?
  • A There are several possible reasons that your dog's behaviour may not have improved after one month of using the product.
  • If the organ that identifies pheromones (Jacobson's organ, also called vomeronasal organ) is inflamed, your dog may temporarily be unable to identify pheromones.
  • It is also possible that your dog's behaviour is not related to stress. Lack of appetite, excessive licking or aggression, for example, may be symptoms of physiological or organic diseases. If in doubt, consult a vet.
  • Make sure your dog really has the ability to change their behaviour. For example, urination in inappropriate places may be due to the inability for your dog to frequently access a suitable space to urinate, or territorial scent marking due to a rival dog in the area frequently marking their territory.
  • Similarly, excessive barking could be due to inadequate stimulation and a lack of activity causing boredom.
