Questions about Small Animals Food & Nutrition

  • Can Lactol be used for rearing small animals?
  • Lactol has been successfully used to rear a number of small, and some not so small "exotic" animals. We have received positive feedback from people who have used lactol to raise hedgehogs, squirrels, rabbits and tigers. For rabbits, use one part Lactol to two parts boiled (and cooled to body temperature) water. Baby rabbits have a tendency to bolt their food, leading to digestive problems, so be careful not to overfeed.
However, an even better product for rearing small animals is Small Animal Milk, this formula has been adapted specifically to small animals' needs.
